3-D poroelastic anisotropic model of a lumbar intervertebral disc

Abstract

A three-dimensional finite element model of discs was developed that accounts for the poroelastic anisotropic features. The model was validated by performing relaxation test, wherein a translation was imposed in compression of 1 mm of the superior vertebra.
