Abstract

A case of articular synovioma in a 17-yr-old footballer with a clinical diagnosis of medial meniscopathy is described. Arthroscopy was employed to reveal and remove a brownish, duro-elastic formation with a histological picture of pigmented villonodular synovitis of intra-articular origin. This disorder is not common in other districts and unusual in joint cavities. The case is presented for this reason and on account of the originality of its treatment.
