Abstract

In this article we propose a computerized system written in a language (basic microsoft) which can be used in most microcomputers. This system permits the calculation of calory, nitrogen, water, electrolyte, vitamin and trace element requirements considering a patient's age, weight, sex, UUN, and his pathology. Within optimal ranges a variety of menus allow personal choices by the operators. The possibility of guided personal intervention, in a pre-ordinated logical sequence, makes this system useful for both the specialist in need of a fast computerized tool and the beginner who needs to check the corrections of his decisions.
