Abstract
Gynecomastia is the most common breast lesion in males. It is generally classified in 3 grades by size and by skin redundancy. Pharmacological therapy is often inadequate, especially when marked breast enlargement and skin redundancy is present. Surgical treatment is different in order to the various pathological grades. In case of moderate breast enlargement and absence of skin redundancy it is possible to perform a simple subcutaneous mastectomy with periareolar incision, while the presence of excessive skin imposes its excision together with gland and fat. The Authors discuss their casistic of 4 patients, 2 with moderate and 2 with severe gynecomastia, treated according to Peixoto surgical technique.
