Abstract
We describe a suitable procedure we have utilized in a low weight patient for the collection of Peripheral Blood Stem Cells (PBSC). The technique is based on the transfusional pre-treatment of patient to reach 40% of haematocrit, on connecting the small bowl of a MCS3p (Haemonetics) separator to a red cell concentrate and on using a blood flow rate of 20 mL/min.
