Abstract
Adaptive autoregressive identification with "whale" forgetting function is here proposed for event related desynchronization/synchronization (ERD/ERS) analysis. The new method, proceeding from a "pole-based" point of view, (i) is as good as the standard band-pass filtering approach for ERS estimation, (ii) automatically identifies the pole frequencies, and (iii) provides further information expressed by the pole frequency curves.
