Abstract

The design of the psychosomatics project is described as well as the first results in three patients (unstable hypertension; asthma; migraine) treated by psychotherapy. In the average treatment period of 8 months partially successful improvements in the psychosomatic complaints were achieved. The psychotherapy study should contribute towards the question of the differential indication and efficiency of different psychological interventions as well as produce experiences with single case documentation techniques. It is the essential objective of the authors to develop and test praxis relevant therapeutic procedures which can be utilised by both psychologists and physicians for psychosomatic patients.
