Abstract
The authors have extended the usefulness of the yeast 'killer system' for differentiating strains of Candida albicans within the species. By using 21 killer strains grouped in triplets it was possible to differentiate 27 biotypes among 100 strains of Candida albicans that were studied. The method proves to be highly reliable and reproducible when simple, basic cultural conditions were observed in the test.
