Abstract

The incidence of circulating thyroid antibodies has been studied in 50 diabetics. The incidence of thyroid microsomal antibodies was significantly higher in insulin-dependent diabetics than in the normal controls. The possible role of autoimmune processes in the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus is discussed.
