Abstract

Aorto-caval fistula is a rare complication of neoplasms involving the retroperitoneum and the inferior vena cava. This occurrence needs careful surgical planning to repair the fistula, treat malignant caval thrombosis and resect the neoplasm. The management of a neoplastic patient in poor clinical condition must consider the need to palliate symptoms and prolong survival.
