Abstract
XbaI and PvuII polymorphisms of the estrogen receptor-α gene (ERα) have been associated with several multifactorial diseases. We studied the distribution of ERα polymorphisms in patients with deep vein thrombosis. PvuII PP and XbaI XX genotypes may be associated with an approximately 2-fold increased DVT risk of deep vein thrombosis in men.
