Abstract
A rare case involving the simultaneous presence of von Recklinghausen's disease and ganglioneuroblastoma is reported. The association of the two diseases suggests the hypothesis that they have a common genetic origin, starting from the embryonal cells of the neural crest, a hypothesis founded on clinical and histological elements in the present case and in three other cases of this association described in the literature.
