Abstract
The association of diabetes mellitus and primary optic atrophy with other clinical events such as diabetes insipidus and 'neurogenic' deafness is a rare syndrome described for the first time in 1938 by Wolfram. A personal case is reported, and the clinical and genetic aspects discussed. The literature is also reviewed.
