Abstract
In 1993, the Italian Society of Hospital Pharmacy (SIFO) sponsored a sophisticated software application entitled Computed Bibliographic Data Bank (BBSsifo), capable of managing bibliographic references concerning drugs and topics of scientific interest. The Documentation and Information Section (DIS) of USL 40 in Naples created a bibliographic database for the field of hepatocyte transplantation and hepatocyte preservation and cryopreservation. In this report, we show how a bibliographic database created with BBSsifo software can produce an efficient, accurate and time-saving information tool for health care professionals and scientists.
