Abstract
Benign neonatal sleep myoclonus (BNSM), characterized by myoclonic jerks of the extremities only during NREM sleep has a self-limited and benign course. We have observed three siblings affected by BNSM. Only two other affected families have been described in the literature. The presence of familial cases suggests that a genetic factor may play a role in determining this syndrome.
