Abstract

Partial purification of esteroprotease of the submaxillary gland of male mice was carried out by ethanol precipitation, DEAE and CM cellulose chromatographies and gel filtration. Disc electrophoresis and ultracentrifugation on a sucrose gradient were used to check the enzyme purity. Biological properties, such as vasodepressor activity, and enzymatic properties (inhibition by specific protease inhibitors) were also investigated.
