Abstract

Aim of the present investigation was to point out differences, between normal population and patients affected by blepharospasm, concerning blinking charactenstics. Fifty patients affected by blepharospasm underwent the same protocol of study we previously used to perform the analysis of blinking in a cohort of 150 healthy volunteers. All subjects were videotaped in the following three behavioral conditions for two minutes' each: resting, reading and talking. The blink rate was calculated and the betweencondition companson was performed; data were compared to our normative values.
