Abstract

According to the original description by Tieche [33], to which little can be added, blue nevus is a dermal-based, benign melanocytic lesion histopathologically made up by variable proportions of oval/spindle and bipolar, usually heavily pigmented dendritic cells (G. Ferrara et al., submitted) [37, 40]. The aggregation of oval/spindle melanocytes with pale cytoplasm into discrete expansile nodules features a cellular blue nevus [23, 37].
