Abstract

The Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome and Breathing Sleep Disorders, are associated with significant morbidity and increasing mortality and they are a public health problem with important social consequences. The main phases of patient's care are: the diagnostic phase, the follow-up and the titration and adaptation to Continuous Positive Airways Pressure or Non Invasive Mechanical Ventilation. In this article, we describe the main organizational models found in the literature and an example of multidisciplinary organization in an Italian Rehabilitation Hospital in where respiratory physiotherapist plays an important role.
