Abstract
This is a case report of the death of a 3 days old newborn, due to a serious perinatal distress. During the second day of life the baby was monitored by ambulatory EEG (A-EEG), in order to evaluate his seizures. After 12 hours from the beginning of the monitoring the baby died. The Authors describe here the most peculiar aspect of this monitoring, and particularly the baby's brain death that preceded the disappearance of the other vital functions (ECG) by two hours.
