Abstract

A neuropsychological protocol exploring attentive, mnesic, linguistic and visual constructive functions was applied to 81 patients with chronic cerebrovsscular disease. They were treated with vincamine teprosilate (Teproside) 120 mg daily for a period of 90 days. No changes were observed in the clinical status, but there was an improvement in neuropsychological tests with an "intermediate" sensitivity to brain damage. Suggestions are given on the use of neuropsychological methodologies in long- and short-term pharmacological studies.
