Abstract

A human monoclonal component with anti-streptolysin activity (titer 1:15000) was dicovered in a patient with a monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance. The antibody activity was determined by a hemolysis inhibition test and immunoblotting using whole immunoglobulin and Fab,F(ab')2 and Fc fragments. The anti-streptolysin activity was found to be located in the Fab-F(ab')2 fragments and directed against a 57 Kd protein with an isoelectric point of 7.5.
