Abstract

Patients with chest pain represent a heterogeneous group in terms of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. Echocardiography is widely used in the emergency department to perform the differential diagnosis of chest pain, to stratify the risk, to determine the prognosis, and to guide the choice between medical and surgical therapy.
