Abstract
50 patients with epilepsy and 50 controls were administered a comprehensive test battery that included intelligence, attention, verbal memory, visual memory, fluency, language comprehension and visuo-perceptual/spatial skills. We repeated the same neuropsychological battery after 5 years. We found a impairement on attention abilities in the group with E (p <0.05). The other cognitive performances did not decline. The controls kept the same cognitive results.
