Abstract

Magnetic Resonance was performed in 36 adult patients with partial seizures of undetermined etiology and normal CT brain scan. In 15 patients (42%) MR showed either lesions or structural abnormalities. A successive CT scan confirmed the existence of a lesion in only 4 patients, demonstrating the higher diagnostic values of MR versus CT scan in focal epilepsies of unknown etiology.
