Abstract
Despite many reports on the safety of Endoscopic Ultrasound, the complication rate after this fairly new procedure remains poorly defined. This review of literature data reveals that they remains scarce about diagnostic EUS, but more solid for EUS-FNA. Complication rate of diagnostic EUS may be comparable to that of routine endoscopy, but risks and complications raise after EUS-FNA, still remaining within acceptable limits. Caution is needed in the presence of some possible risk factors.
