Computational 3-D models of the mitral hemodynamics after 'edge-to-edge' valve repair

Abstract

A computational parametric model was developed to evaluate the hemodynamics of the mitral valve following the edge-to-edge technique. The pressure drop across the valve was quantified under different conditions. Further, the reliability of the Doppler pressure drop was verified based on the simplified Bernoulli equation.
