In vesical neoplasms, in order to obtain a surgical indication, prognosis and evaluation of results, it is of paramount importance to perform, as much as possible, correct preoperative staging. Traditional methods do not bring optimal results, evidencing staging errors even in 56% of the cases, as it is reported by Kenny et al. The use of CAT in the clinical diagnosis of abdominal and pelvic zones, suggested to take advantages of such a technique also for the staging of vesical neoplasms. The authors's casuistics, 25 cases of vesical tumors examined by CAT compared with the histology of surgical or resection tissue, is discussed. It is suggested that CAT represents an examination which may give useful information about the extent of the vesical neoplasm and its eventual involvement of the nearby organs and lymph nodes.
