Abstract
Two familial groups of cases of congenital cervico-vaginal transformation zone (CTZ or 'DES-like anomalies') are reported. CTZ was observed in two couples of monozygotic twins and in a 3rd sister of one of these two families. The origin of this condition is discussed considering the posibility that 'DES-like anomalies' represent the remnants of the early Mullerian squamous epithelium lining the distal part of the utero-vaginal canal.
