Abstract

Indications for performing continuous peripheral blocks of the upper and lower extremities are described. This technique is not only essential in postoperative pain management and in the treatment of chronic painful pathologies but is also indispensable insofar as it permits persistent vasodilatation and enables physical therapy procedures to be carried out. A detailed description is also given of continuous-block materials, techniques, drugs and administration methods.
