Three cases of oriental shore are described, caught in 1978 by members of the family of an Italian technician, working in a village about 200 km north-west from the Capital Riyadh; another technician working 100 km south in a desert camp had ulcerative leishmaniasis on the left hand, which simulated a cutaneous mycobacteriosis accompanied by a chain of nodules along the lymphatics up to the axillary region. The above-described lesions, including the secondary nodules, were found positive after culture in NNN medium. The importance of the accurate and early diagnosis of the ever increasing number of imported cases of exotic parasitoses is stressed.
