Abstract

Threshold intensity (TI) to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was evaluated in 65 young adult patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) and 50 healthy controls. Forty six patients were taking one or more antiepileptic drugs whereas the remaining patients were untreated because of recent epilepsy onset. TI was significantly lower in untreated patients (41±7) (p <0.005) as compared to controls.
