Abstract
We have evaluated the relation between interical depression (D) and epilepsy (E) in 96 out-patients. Fifty per cent of pt fulfilled the DSM-IIIR criteria for D. D was more frequent and more severe in pt with complex partial seizures than in pt with generalized E or elementary partial seizures. Conversely, no correlations were noted between severity of D and duration of E, seizure frequency, side of epileptic lesion, therapy, socio-economic status, education and family history of D.
