Abstract
Long term outcome of 18 epileptic children (9 males, 9 females) with Non convulsive status epilepticus (Nc-SE) was evaluated according to effects on their EEG of a Diazepam (DZP) rectal administration. At the end of follow-up (4.4-24.7 yrs; mean 12.0 yrs) the remission rate of seizures was 57% for patients with epileptic abnormalities suppressed by DZR and 67% for those with drug-induced fast activity; moreover, the absence of DZP-induced fast activity was constantly related to poor outcome.
