Abstract
Ten patients, with suspected abdominal aortic aneurysm, have been examined by intravenous digital subtraction angiography (IV-DSA) and immediately afterwards by computed tomography (CT). The results were compared to the surgical findings. Together IV-DSA and CT provide all the necessary preoperative information with a considerable reduction in the contrast medium and constitute non-invasive, outpatient procedures. We recommend, whenever possible, to perform IV-DSA and CT together, after ultrasound, for the preoperative evaluation of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
