Abstract

Drug prescriptions: an epidemiological profile of elderly population in Rome. The increasing importance of the elderly in western countries is reflected also in the critical role they play in the clinical and pharmacological settings. Within the framework of a large international collaborative study on the pharmacoepidemiology of elderly town dwellers in Europe, the CEET (Care for Elderly in European Towns) project, profile of the population recruited in Rome - ASL 5 - is described, and its specific features are discussed with respect to other cohort of the project.
