Data presented show that histamine, in vitro, inhibits the E rosette forming cell in hay fever and normal subjects. However, the inhibition in vitro is significantly more evident in the atopic group than in the controls. The incubation in both groups with levamisole restores the number of E rosette forming cells. During the pollen season, 10 hay fever subjects showed a spontaneous reduction in E rosette forming cells which was corrected, in vitro, by levamisole.
