Abstract

Patients who receive thrombolysis within 2 to 3 hours after onset of acute myocardial infarction (MI) tend to be predisposed to the development of late potentials. The effect seems to be independent of ejection fraction and occurs more often in inferior than in anterior acute MI. Our experience indicates that acute administration of β blockers may reduce the incidence of late potentials significantly.
