Abstract
As the number of drugs and therapeutic strategies for the treatment of cancer continuously increase, early detection and treatment of cardiotoxic side effects are actual and important issue. Along with left ventricular dysfunction, arrhythmic side effects are fairly common. In particular, oncologic patients often present with QT prolongation, since their conditions are associated with concomitant risk factors, such as electrolytic alterations due to dehydration, vomiting or diarrhea, pre-existing cardiovascular diseases, renal or hepathic dysfunctions, other medications which are known for predisposing to QT prolongation.
