Abstract
Neonatal seizures are frequently characterised by an inconstant correlation between clinical phenomena and EEG discharges. Sixteen video- EEGs recorded in as many neonates with convulsions were submitted to detailed analysis. Five different categories o f electroclinical correlation were observed. The most advanced degrees of disassociation between EEG discharges and clinical events were detected when status epilepticus was observed on the EEG tracing.
