Abstract

An open clinical trial was performed on 24 healthy volunteers in order to evaluate the irritation potential of fenticonazole gynecologic ovules (200 and 600 mg). The contact-sensitizing potential of the two fenticonazole preparations was also investigated. There was no evidence of irritation after treatment with fenticonazole 200-mg or 600-mg ovules. The contact-sensitizing test was performed with fenticonazole 200-mg and 600-mg ovules and their respective excipients. Two subjects (one in the fenticonazole 200-mg group and one in the fenticonazole 600-mg excipients) showed signs of mild sensitization.
