Abstract
The 'Progetto ADROTERAPIA' is a feasibility study of a hospital-based hadron-therapy facility in Italy. This centre should be a 'centre of excellence' for radiation therapy and therefore should provide the techniques and the tools that are related to the state-of-the-art of radiation therapy at present and in the near future. The paper describes the guidelines of the design study which is being pursued.
