The SISC ad Hoc Committee formulated these guidelines and recommendations to treat migraine in paediatric patients. The peculiarity of the approach to migraine in children and adolescents from a neurobiological and relational point of view was stressed. The peculiar clinical features of migraine in paediatric patients, different from the adult ones, have been considered, in order to decide a correct diagnostic flow-chart. As regards the therapeutic principles, the relevance of a global approach to migraine patients was underlined. As regards the choice of acute and prophylactic drugs, the substances that have been studied in double blind trials and those that are currently in use have been considered. The last ones will be revised in the future.
