Abstract

The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the presence of CEA or TPA in adenomas with different histotype and dysplasia grading. These data demonstrate that the presence of CEA or TPA in tissue is associated with dysplastic alterations, particularly in tubulovillous and villous adenomas. The distribution of CEA or TPA in adenomas may be considered a sign of possible malignant evolution and a parameter for evaluation of cases with the highest risk.
