Abstract

The authors examined biopsy material obtained from women wearing inert and copper-coiled IUDs, under the light and electron microscopes. Examination of this material leads to the conclusion that there are no specific lesions attributable to either type of IUD. It can also be said that lesions characteristic for an inflammatory reaction prevail over all other possible endometrial changes.
