Abstract

The reconsideration of the classification of the malignant non Hodgkin lymphomas (LM), which has been in progress for the last few years, has been stimulated by the concept that LM are neoplasms of the immunity system, and that most of them derive from lymphoid cells in various stages of morphological and functional change. A description is presented of the clinical and histological aspects of the following types: Burkitt's lymphoma; immunoblastic lymphoma; lymphoblastic lymphoma with convoluted cells; acute lymphoblastic leukemia and malignant histiocytosis.
