HIV infection in a male patient with systemic lupus erythematosus

Abstract

The association between systemic lupus erythematosus and human immunodeficiency virus infection is extremely rare. We report a case of this association and discuss the possible reasons for its rarity, together with the difficulties encountered in the interpretation of the clinical and laboratory features.
