Abstract

Panayiotopoulos syndrome is an early-onset age-related epileptic syndrome. Seizures are rare, with frequent evolution in Autonomic status epilepticus. Prognosis is usually excellent. There is no evidence of neuropsychological abnormalities. Atypical evolution with cognitive impairment is exceptional. We report the video-EEG features of an Autonomic Status Epilepticus in a child affected by PS with atypical evolution because of the neuropsychological deficits and subcontinuous spike-waves during slow sleep.
