Abstract
Skin inflammation in atopic dermatitis (AD) is the results of multiple and distinct mechanisms. Cutaneous harrier dysfunction and abnormalities in cytokine production by keratinocytes create an environment that favors both chronic non-specific inflammation and allergen-specific immune responses.
