Abstract
To determine if estrogen plus progesterone replacement therapy influences plasma lipoprotein(a) levels in postmenopausal women, we treated 10 subjects with this combination for one year and compared the findings as well as data obtained one year later with those for 10 untreated control subjects. Therapy lowered lipoprotein(a) levels as well as total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein levels and raised high-density lipoprotein levels, thereby improving the lipid profile.
